Qondoc -
Teracom AB’s business upholds an important social role, which implies that the company has very high demands on its IT security. This summer the company invested in our CMDB solution which meets the recommendations of the Swedish Emergency Management Agency for BITS.
Teracom’s demands on IT security and its documentation are high as the company upholds an important role in society. The company has decided to focus on tools which meet the requirements set by standards like ITIL and BITS. “Based on our existing documentation and management of the IT related equipment – servers, software and applications – we wanted a CMDB tool which meets the ITIL requirements”, says Stefan Thoft.
How does Qondoc make Teracom’s registration of IT and IT documentation easier? “We were looking for a configuration database (CMDB) to get a structured inventory handling with all information gathered at just one place – the connection between application and hardware. Qondoc’s tool can help us with that”, says Stefan Thoft.
“When we had a closer look at Qondoc we found that Qondoc Application suits us as the products are also able to visualise the link between system and applications”, says Stefan Thoft. Teracom has further decided to integrate CHiP Helpdesk1 with Qondoc Application2. “We saw an advantage of being able to link the events from the existing Qondoc database to the CHiP and in this way create an event when changes are made to the IT environment”, Stefan Thoft continues.
“After having searched the marked for options and suppliers which fulfilled our requirement specification, we decided on Qondoc”, says Stefan Thoft. Teracom installed their CMDB by beginning September and are now ready to make full use of the new tool. “Registration of which information shall be included in the database had already taken place. Now we have started on organising this information. We have not begun operation of the system in full yet but are just starting”, says Teracom’s IT manager Stefan Thoft.
