Uponor opts for Qondoc Infrastructure

Life as an IT manager needs to be simple. We hope and believe that the life of IT manager Patrik Bohlin at Uponor AB has become a little easier since the company chose Qondoc Infrastructure as the platform for documentation of servers and clients. As a start, Qondoc will be implemented in Sweden and in Denmark.

Central source of information

“Our vision is to use Qondoc as the central source of information where we can both enter and extract information and to compile all of our information for the Nordic region in one place. If you can’t get hold of the right person in for instance Finland, I can access the system from here and se what servers we need to update. We can get one step further in our troubleshooting without having to waste time looking for the person who is responsible for the faulty server,” explains Patrik Bohlin.

Faster measures
In other words, we can carry out more effective troubleshooting and take faster measures with Qondoc Infrastructure. For starters, Patrik Bohlin envisages great benefits for the service desk with Qondoc: “They can themselves identify the application and how it is installed. We can split work costs into a service function and an operational function, where the operational function will make sure always to keep the manuals up-to-date and also update the information in Qondoc. We’ll not have to notify each other manually in every single instance.”

The Uponor group specialises in infrastructure solutions through construction and environment. Uponor AB in Sweden consists of Uponor Infrastruktur, Uponor VVS and Sörberg Produktion AB. The group has a total revenue of SEK 1,361 million and a staff of 670 employees.

The Uponor Nordic region comprises the group companies in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The 2006 net sales were about EUR 379 million. The seven production units of the region employ about 1,300 people.
