City of Sundbyberg improves its IT documentation

The City of Sundbyberg’s complex and expanding IT infrastructure requires increasingly advanced tools for IT documentation, IT inventory and system relations. “Qondoc offers us an integrated solution and an excellent foundation for internal invoicing,” says Leif Carde, operations and network manager in the City of Sundbyberg.

Familiar with Qondoc

The City of Sundbyberg previously used IT inventory tools developed in-house, but as demands have increased for new system functions, continuing to develop the systems in-house became too costly. Instead, the City started looking at externally designed products. After carefully scanning the market, the choice fell on Qondoc. “We felt great confidence in Qondoc right from square one,” says Carde. “Their approach coincided very well with ours, and we immediately liked the option of entering system descriptions and system relations. We have almost eighty equipped work locations, and are integrating more and more of our systems. So good documentation is a essential to ensure smooth operations.”

Clearer internal invoicing

Carde talks of coordinating all elements of the IT organisation. This idea is perfectly in line with our All-in-One concept. The City of Sundbyberg leases all of its hardware and invoices each administration internally. With Qondoc Application, Sundbyberg hopes to both clarify and rationalise its operations. “We want to simplify our administrations’ work so that they can constantly monitor their annual IT costs,” he says.

Qondoc SAM for license management

In addition to Qondoc Application The City of Sundbyberg has chosen Qondoc Software Asset Manager Qondoc Software Asset Manager (Qondoc SAM) for license management. “We’ve just finished setting up the server and database. The next step is installation,” says Carde. “Our first priority is to transfer the current documentation for all our hardware and systems to Qondoc and update it.”
